All branches of the Marin County Free Library will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013, in observance of Memorial Day.

GPOY (This is me all this week)
When I'm not gazing out the window, looking mean, but admiring the rain, I'll be reading:
The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee's, farm fields and the dinner table by Tracie McMillan (Slate excerpt) - which was extra awesome as a former food service worker who struggles to connect foodie culture with policy and issues of domestic food security.
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a world that can't stop talking by Susan Cain (NPR review) - which was extra extra awesome and if you're reading this library blog, you would probably like it too.
Too Big to Know: Rethinking knowledge now that the facts aren't the facts, experts are everywhere, and the smartest person in the room is the room by David Weinberger (The Atlantic review)
What I'll Be Watching
Justified Season 2 - which was extra awesome for someone waiting for Breaking Bad to return
Eames: The Architect and the Painter
Contagion - which was extra awesome for a former student of public health who played epidemiological RPGs, plotting hypothetical pandemics using GIS
What do you like to read, watch, eat, do when it's rainy outside?
