On a crisp fall day there’s no better treat than getting a great lunch at the Tomales Deli.  I’m working my way through the menu and I’d have a hard time picking a favorite, but the Vilma’s sandwich (on the specials) is right up there.  Shredded pork, salsa verde, jack cheese, cilantro pesto, tomato, mayo on a Ciabatta roll---what’s not to love!  We’re across from the Deli from 2:30 to 3:30 the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month.  Come check out a book or DVD to enjoy with some great local food.   Maybe Alice Water’s new 40 Years of Chez Panisse: the power of gathering celebrating great California food like the deli.  Or maybe watch Babette’s Feast, or Big Night…..don’t forget your napkins!  And don’t forget the “return box” for library books right in the deli that Joanna graciously lets us use---now that’s community service!

Even when the temp. drops more, Tomales and the Deli rock.
