All branches of the Marin County Free Library will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013, in observance of Memorial Day.

On May 27, 1937, after four years of construction, the completion of the Golden Gate Bridge was celebrated. 200,000 people walked or roller-skated across the span linking San Francisco and Marin. (On its 50th anniversary in 1987, between 750,000 and 1,000,000 pedestrians crossed—or attempted to cross-- the bridge).
