West Mariners came out in great numbers on Saturday to enjoy the music of Teslim, pictured here with Dan Carr and Jennifer Livingston of the Point Reyes Library. Teslim features two well-known Bay Area musicians, violinist Kaila Flexer and Gari Hegedus on oud, Turkish saz, and Greek Lauoto. In addition to their lovely performance of Turkish and Sephardic music, Kaila and Gari took time to explain to the crowd how their instruments are made and tuned to play intervals that don't exist in Western music. Teslim was presented in conjunction with the  2012 One Book One Marin program. This year's selection is the Oracle of Stamboul by Michael David Lukas.
