Create a Succulent Garden with a Pumpkin
You can use cuttings from succulents in your garden or buy small plants at the nursery. If using cuttings, let them air for about 24 hours before using.
There are several ways you can create a mini succulent garden using a pumpkin as a container.
- You can carve out a pumpkin and fill with succulent or potting soil. Just insert your cuttings into the soil
- If you don’t want to cut into the pumpkin, you can glue sphagnum moss to the top of the pumpkin. You will then attach your succulent cuttings to the moss.
- After you’re done arranging your design, mist the cuttings.
When the holidays are over you can plant the succulents in your garden. Either by cutting off the top of the pumpkin (if glued) or planting the whole pumpkin container in your garden.
Here are a few different methods on how to create your own mini succulent garden decoration.
