Series starter is Aisha Saeed, The New York Times bestselling children’s and teen author. Her middle grade novels include: The New York Times best seller Amal Unbound, winner of the California Medal for Young Readers Written in the Stars, Aladdin retelling Far from Agrabah, and book #1 of the new trilogy, Diana and the Island of No Return. Aisha is also one of 15 Muslim voices in the short story collection Once Upon an Eid. She is also a founding member of the We Need Diverse Books nonprofit.
Aisha will be reading her debut picture book Bilal Cooks Daal, which highlights the values of patience, teamwork, community, and sharing. Six-year-old Pakistani American Bilal is excited to share his favorite food, this tasty slow-cooked lentil stew from South Asia with family and friends.

Renée Watson is a New York Times bestselling author, educator, and activist. Her young adult novel, Piecing Me Together received a Coretta Scott King Award and Newbery Honor in 2018.
