Marin City Live! Presents:
The Spider King
Virtual Author Event hosted by The Marin City Library
The Marin City Library continues its online Zoom author visits with our very own children’s author/illustrator, DAVID SWOPE, reading The Spider King.
David is an award-winning creative director and documentary filmmaker who has spun hundreds of stories for his children. The Spider King is the first story to be published (so far). David lives in Marin City, where he has learned to gently escort wayward spiders outside.
King Fang has set a competition, and suitors for his daughter must spin a royal web for his approval. Will the princess marry the spider of her father’s choosing or one who makes her laugh?
The Spider King is a fairy tale with a twist, told in rhyme. It’s a funny and surprising story about creativity, simplicity, and staying true to yourself.
