Patrons will be notified by email that their item on hold is available. Save time by calling ahead at (415) 332-6158 so that we can prepare your items. Then call us when you are in our parking lot. Returns are accepted during curbside hours.

The library is currently closed to the public, due to public health order.

About Marin City Library

Conveniently located in the Gateway Shopping Center in Marin City, we are an oasis for information–both digital and in print, and a place to gather, learn, mentor, and create.

  • We provide storytimes for all ages, computer classes, after school math tutoring, and fun and thought-provoking programming for our community.
  • Our library offers two ever-expanding collections that are unique to MCFL–adult and teen urban fiction. Drama, romance, struggle, and survival: find it all here.

Computers & Wi-Fi

We boast the largest computer lab in the MCFL system, and we offer hands-on technology mentorship and training, provided by the Marin WebStars.

Computer Tutoring by Appointment

  • One-to-one computer tutoring sessions available by appointment:
    Computer Basics, Internet Basics, or Email Basics.
    Please sign up in advance by calling 415-332-6157.

Donating Books & Materials

  • We accept small quantities of donations at the branch (due to limited storage space).
  • Larger donations can be taken to the bookstore run by the Friends – Book Place.
  • Books should be in good condition. We also accept DVDs, videos, CDs and magazines.
  • We do not accept textbooks. (The Friends do not accept textbooks or magazines).
  • Donated items are usually sold at the branch or at the Friends bookstore.

Friends Groups

Got tech questions? Our WebStars have the answers.

  • Headquartered in the Marin City Library, the program trains young people as technology ambassadors.
  • The WebStars then serve our community, offering tutoring and troubleshooting with the following:
    • Email, word processing, and basic hardware/software maintenance
    • Social media, blogging, and photo sharing
    • Webpage design, photo editing, and animation

The Marin City Library branch offers free 3D printing to library cardholders.
