If you’re planning on visiting the Corte Madera Library, please be aware that the Town of Corte Madera has begun a traffic congestion relief project on our street that will affect traffic flow and parking.
The work on the “Sanford at Casa Buena and Meadowsweet – Traffic Congestion Relief Project” began on May 23, 2019, and is projected to be completed at the end of July. Working hours will be Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (excluding holidays).
The project involves adding a new pedestrian/bike path to Sanford between Meadowsweet and Casa Buena. North-bound vehicle traffic will no longer be able to access Tamalpais from Meadowsweet. Vehicle access to Tamalpais will be re-directed to Casa Buena. Other safety improvements will include enhanced pedestrian crossings, addition of class 2 bike lanes along Casa Buena, and additional vehicle queuing capacity along Casa Buena approaching the Tamalpais intersection.
During construction, parking will be restricted along the street curb within the work zones to allow for sidewalk and storm drain improvements. No closure of the Library entrance or parking lot is planned at this time, but library patrons should plan a couple extra minutes for their trip to/from the Library to allow navigation through the construction zone.
Please contact the Town of Corte Madera, Department of Public Works, for more information.
