Corte Madera Library Improvements

Project Dates: June 2024 - June 2025

Upgrades Complete

We are excited to announce the completion of major upgrades at the Corte Madera Library, made possible through the Corte Madera Library Accessibility Fund, Marin County Free Library Measure A funds, and the Climate Action Plan Fund. This $2.3 million project reflects our commitment to accessibility, sustainability, and creating welcoming spaces for all.

Visitors will now enjoy:

  1. Improved accessibility with new concrete pathways, sidewalks, lighting, signage, and a fully accessible wooden deck/boardwalk with seating and overlook areas.
  2. Fresh outdoor spaces featuring new landscaping, drought-resistant plants, and multiple seating areas, including benches and a wooden deck that replaces the former reading garden.
  3. Modernized restrooms with four single-room facilities, including two larger family restrooms, with full ADA updates.
  4. Sustainability features such as two new Level 2 electric vehicle chargers and a new high-efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.
  5. Parking improvements with resurfacing and updated striping.

We are deeply grateful to our community for their patience during construction and for their support in shaping the future of the Corte Madera Library. These upgrades ensure the library is more accessible, sustainable, and welcoming for generations to come.
