Request books not available at the library and have them shipped directly to you.
Is there a title that you are looking for, but it is not in the Library catalog?
Request it and get it delivered directly to your residence in just a few days through a Zip Books Grant from the California State Library, opens a new window, that allows the library to use Amazon to fulfill your requests.
When you're done with your item, return it to any of our library locations so we can add them to our shelves for others to enjoy.
All requests are considered under our collection development policy. Collection Development librarians have final decision to order and add items to the library's collection.
Ordering a Physical Zip Book
Requirements
- A MARINet account in good standing. Apply online for a library card
- Only request items that are not in the library catalog
- The cost must be under $65
- Item can be either a physical book or large type book (exclusions: physical audio, digital books or audio, all media including DVD/Bluray/4K UHD)
- No pre-order items
- Requests are limited to 5 per patron and 1 request at a time in a fiscal year (July-June)
- To order another book, you must return the one you have
- It must be in stock at U.S. Amazon
- Item must be sold and shipped directly from U.S. Amazon as shown below

How to order and return a Zip Book
Step 1: Fill out the MCFL Zip Book Request Form.
Step 2: Library staff will email or call with an estimated delivery.
Step 3: Return the book to a Marin County Free Library branch. Attach the Amazon gift receipt to the outside of the item.
Ordering a Digital Zip Book

- The item is not in the library catalog or the Palace app
- Items must be available for purchase from the Palace Marketplace
- Item can be either an eBook or an eAudiobook (exclusions: physical book, physical audio, all media including DVD/Bluray/4K UHD)

How it works
Step 1: Fill out the request form (English | Spanish)
Step 2: You will receive an email when the item is available for download on the Palace Project app. Titles cannot be held for the requestor, so please check out your requested item as soon as possible after notification
