Top 20 Fiction:
There were so many great fiction titles in 2025! Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry was most popular overall and the most popular eBook. The Women by Kristin Hannah came in second overall and was the most popular fiction audiobook. James: a Novel by Percival Everett was third overall and was the most popular print book in all categories.

Top 20 Nonfiction:
In nonfiction, The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins came out on top overall and was particularly popular as an eBook. Careless People: a Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism by Sarah Wynn-Williams was second overall, followed by The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing An Epidemic of Mental Illness by Jonathan Haidt.

Teen
Top 20 Teen:
Author Suzanne Collins dominated the list of most popular teen titles. Her newest book, Sunrise on the Reaping, was especially popular with Marin teens, earning twice as many checkouts as any other teen title. Four additional books from her Hunger Games series also landed in the Top 5. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas took the second place spot.

Kids
Top 20 Kids:
Marin kids loved reading books in the Dog Man and Cat Kid series by Dav Pilkey, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney, and the Baby-sitters Club series by various authors. They also enjoyed listening to the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.
Our younger patrons were most interested in picture books about construction, pigeons, princesses, mermaids and unicorns!

Magazines
Digital magazines are now the most checked out items in Marin overall! The most popular title of the year by far was The New Yorker.
You can access a wide range of magazines online on OverDrive's Libby app, opens a new window. Digital magazines are always available with no waitlist, free with your library card.
