Visit Us At The Fair!

From June 30 though July 4, 2023, 11 am - 11 pm, the Marin County Fair will return in full (indoors and outdoors) for the first time since 2019.  With the theme Electrifying!, this year's fair will celebrate all things electric, solar, and charged with excitement.

The Marin County Free Library will be joining in the fun and sharing spaces for play, games, and even a chance to enjoy a quiet moment to browse or read.  You can find us between the carousel and the ferris wheel - all are welcome!

Here's what to explore (once you've satisfied that craving for a delicious treat!):

  • The Learning Bus will provide self-guided play & learn space, including sensory activities and manipulatives, geared toward children 0-5 and their families.
  • Webstars will have cubelets and a portable 3D printer for the techies, and for those who prefer their fun analog, you can join in a game of Giant Jenga or Cornhole.
  • The Try It Truck, the Bay Area Discovery Museum's engineering lab on wheels, will bring hands-on STEAM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math) programming geared towards children (PreK - 5th Grade) and their families.
  • The Bookmobile will be stocked with a large collection of books for adults, children's books for every level of reader, books on CD, DVDs, and a large Spanish collection for children and adults alike.  Need a library card?  Need a quiet place to browse or read?  Come visit us at the County Fair!
  • The Shop: Build-Connect-Discover will have games led by The Shop staff.
