Participating Artists Featured in Exhibit at Civic Center Galleries

The Marin County Free Library and the Department of Cultural Services are thrilled to announce the names of the thirty artists who have been selected to have their artworks become part of the library’s inaugural community art lending collection called On the Wall.  The artists are:

Harvey Abernathey, Maalak Atkins, Richard Blair, Cathy Bowman, Molly Brown, Rick Budde, Miranda Chen, Steve Disenhof, Bob Hemstock, Jennifer Isaac, Toni Littlejohn, Barbara McLain, Susan McMudie, Victoria Mimiaga, Nancy Nichols, Anne Pelletier, Mary Pieper-Warren, Carlos Porrata, Meg Reilly, Noel Ryan, Wendy Schwartz, Tom Soltesz, Stephanie Thwaites, Amanda Tomlin, Tim Walker, Marnie Walters, Ayumi Kie Weissbuch, Kathryn Whitten, Thomas Wood, and Jane Zich.

Over 400 artworks were submitted.  After a lengthy jury process, final selections were made by a committee from the Marin Cultural Association Board.  Thank you to all who participated.

Art lending will begin in early 2024. In the initial phase of this program, art works will be placed in the South Novato, Point Reyes Station, Inverness, Corte Madera, and Marin City libraries with plans to expand the program to all ten Marin County Free Library branches in the future.  Art will be available to borrow with a library card, just like a book or a magazine.

An exhibit of works by these artists will open on October 26th at the Civic Center Galleries.  Don’t miss the opening of the On the Wall art show to view exceptional work by Marin artists and celebrate this exciting new program.

The On the Wall Community Art Lending collection is generously supported by the Marin County Library Foundation, Tomales Bay Library Association, Friends of the Marin City Library, and Friends of the Novato Libraries.
