Did you know we have an amazing museum in Novato? The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art is located in the Hamilton neighborhood of Novato at 500 Palm Drive in the Novato Arts Center.
Admission is free and home to over 40 artists working in their own studies as well as ongoing art exhibits in the gallery and community events during the year.
The artists have working studios in 3 buildings that provide an atmosphere of creative energy in which contemporary art flourishes. What an opportunity to walk through the buildings and see such different art being created in each studio. You feel like you are peeking into the creative process, something we do not usually have the privilege of doing.
MOCA also provides ongoing art classes and workshops for all ages.
The Marin County Free Library has begun a partnership with MOCA to better serve all the residents of Marin. We will participate on November 10th with a children’s craft event from 4-6pm during a MOCA family music event and December 1 with a family craft event during Art by the Inch, one of MOCA’s largest yearly events. Our participation will enable us to meet community residents who do not visit our library and we will share all the exciting services we have to offer to families at the library. We look forward to partnering in future events. Visit MOCA’s website at marinmoca.org to find out more about this amazing treasure in Marin.
MOCA also has an amazing museum store offering a wide range of unique products and a great place to pick up a gift for adults as well as children. I love to browse museum gift shops and this one is small yet home to so many wondrous gifts.
MCFL is so excited to share this wonderful resource with all our library patrons.
