We are so grateful for the support of our Friends of the Library groups!
This week we are honoring their contributions and reflecting on all the things they have made possible for our libraries and all the ways they help us grow and build resilient communities.
The Friends of the Library groups support the Library and our communities with their unceasing generosity to help fund our services and facilities.
Some examples of the many contributions the Friends make to ensure that critical services and programs are possible in the library include:
- Funds for Summer Challenge to support literacy and learning for children and teens
- Support for in-person and online events for all ages, from docent lectures to movies
- StoryWalk, an interactive program designed to foster a sense of community and a love of story, while promoting play, literacy, and exercise through a book-inspired treasure hunt
- Facilities projects like the Fairfax Library Garden
