Project Dates: June 2024 - Early 2025
About the Project
The Corte Madera Library will receive a variety of upgrades over the next few months. The work will include improved paths of travel around the library grounds, electric vehicle chargers, a new heating and cooling system, and new bathrooms.
The project is estimated to cost $2.3 million and will be funded through the Corte Madera Library Accessibility Fund, Marin County Free Library Measure A funds, and the Climate Action Plan Fund.
Impacts to Public
The branch will be closed to the public for the month of August to September 23 to accommodate the most intensive phase of interior work. From September 23 through the end of the project, the Library may need to adjust the branch’s hours of operation. The closest alternative locations are Larkspur Library and Marin City Library.
The south parking lot will be used as the staging area for the contractor and will therefore be closed to the public for the duration of the project. The east parking lot will be available for public use, with only the occasional need for partial restrictions to accommodate specific construction activities.
