Update: Corte Madera & Novato Libraries Resumed Curbside Service Feb 9

Corte Madera & Novato Libraries Closed Temporarily Due to Construction Project

Update 2/8/21:  The Corte Madera Library and the Novato Library will resume curbside service on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  Library staff will be on-site and available to answer the phone at both locations.   Returns will be accepted at both locations.

The emergency construction work has been completed ahead of schedule.   This will allow the Library to provide curbside pickups again starting tomorrow.  Please be aware that there is a backlog of materials, including  holds to be delivered and items to be checked-in, and Library staff will be working on catching up as quickly as possible.   We appreciate your patience at this time.

Curbside Services at Corte Madera and Novato Libraries will be closed starting today, January 25, due to an issue discovered with the ongoing construction projects.  The expected reopening date for Curbside Service is Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at both locations.

During construction low levels of asbestos were found in air samples at these libraries.  While still within legal limits, out of an abundance of caution, the asbestos will be abated before reopening the libraries to staff and for patron curbside services. We estimate two week closures at both locations. We will update you if there are changes to this timeline.

The Corte Madera book drop, as it is exterior to the building, will remain open.  The Novato book drop will be closed, as books drop inside the building, and we will not be able to accept returns there during this period. Please hold on to your items, or you may return them at any other open branch, opens a new window.  Due dates will be extended, and no fines will be assessed.

Both Corte Madera & Novato Libraries are extending hold pickup dates; no need to worry about losing your holds, we will keep them for you.
