It’s Really Starting to Look Like Something!

Fairfax Garden Project Update: August 18, 2022

Until late last week, our garden project looked, to the untrained eye, like a lot of dirt.  Sure, we could see the earthmovers going back and forth, and contours of the land had changed.  But still, there was really nothing there but dirt.

This week we see some of the hardscape being installed, and it’s really starting to look like something!

The forms have been built for the stairs, and the concrete is scheduled to be poured later this week.  You can see where the pad will be poured at the bottom of the steps to connect to the sidewalk; this pad is also where the arbor will be built.

Concrete will also be poured to create the shortcut from the lower parking lot to the library front doors, for those who wish to bypass the garden entirely.

The patio area has now been prepped with gravel and is ready for the engraved pavers.  Pavers were delivered to the engraver this week!

The mixer arrived today to pour the concrete!  We now have a walkway from the library to the lower parking lot, and stairs which will lead to the garden.
