Homework Helpers

Starting this September, the Homework Helpers program, created and run by high school students and the Marin County Free Library, is offering free one-on-one Homework Help sessions for students in grades 3 through 10 at the Corte Madera, Fairfax, Civic Center, and Novato libraries.

Our Homework Helpers strongly believe that all kids should have equitable access to homework help. They began in Corte Madera in February of 2022, expanded to Fairfax and Civic Center during the 2022-23 school year, and will be starting in Novato this fall.

Homework Helpers not only offer homework help, but their dedicated community of volunteers creates a welcoming safe space for any student who would like to attend. Whether it is a one-time visit to help prepare for a test or weekly visits, they welcome your participation.

Students are encouraged to use the registration forms (linked from each of the sessions on our online calendar) to communicate what they need help with. This is an excellent opportunity for students and families to get extra help, outside of school, from local high school students.  We are excited to kick off Homework Helpers again for this school year!

The program begins in September and will continue throughout the school year.  Check our online calendar for details on starting dates and registration information for each location.  More locations and dates are still being added, so please check back!
