Orange you glad it’s fall. Yes, the pumpkin season is upon us. Did you know that 112 Pumpkin pounds are grown in California each year? Pumpkins make great pies, and their seeds are full of magnesium.
For those that love to decorate and carve the members of the Cucurbita pepo family. There is Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival. It features a parade, and the world championship pumpkin weigh off. Stay local and visit the list of Pumpkin Patches put together by Marin Mommies or head across the bridge to Secret San Francisco Pumpkin Patches.
If the Great Pumpkin is your thing, visit the Charles Shultz Museum on its free day to watch the beloved classic on the big screen. Use your library card and get a Discover and Go Pass to SFMOMA and visit Yayoi Kusama’s Aspiring Pumpkin’s Love, the Love in my Heart on view now through October 2025.
Paint a mini pumpkin at Corte Madera’s Crafternoon for kids on Wednesday, October 9th at 3:30pm.
