Important Dates


Tax Season Begins: Monday, January 24th, 2022

Taxes Due By: Monday, April 18, 2022


You must file and pay by May 17, 2022.

If you are not ready to file your return by that date, you must send your payment by May 17, and submit the return by October 15, 2022

We're Here for You!

Tax booklets, both Federal and California, plus IRS forms 1099 and 1096, will be available at the ten Marin County Free Libraries while supplies last.

For all other tax forms, you may print for free using our mobile printing instructions, or come into the branch and receive staff assistance with printing.

Tax Help Services

AARP Tax-Aides provide free income tax assistance during tax season for all low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to seniors. Tax-Aides offer free and confidential income tax counseling and tax return preparation services for individuals filing basic income tax forms. Phone number and email for appointments coming soon.

VITA Tax Services(English and Spanish) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs offer help to families making less than about $66,000 per year. Services will be starting soon - you can sign up to receive a notification when they re-open.

Earn It! Keep It! Save It! (EKS) (English and Spanish) is a coalition of organizations that provide free tax help throughout the Bay Area led by United Way Bay Area in partnership with the IRS. Our services are free, secure, and high-quality. Tax returns are prepared by trained and IRS-certified volunteers.
