Federal Tax Filing Dates for 2020 returns

Tax season will begin on Friday, February 12, 2021.

The filing deadline to submit 2020 tax returns is Thursday, April 15, 2021 for most taxpayers.

California State Personal Income Tax

You must file and pay by April 15, 2021.

Send your payment if you are not ready to file your return.

Tax booklets, both Federal and California, plus IRS forms 1099 and 1096, are available at all ten Marin County Free Libraries while supplies last.

For all other tax forms, you may call the Reference Line at 415-473-2272 to request free printed forms for pickup during curbside hours.

AARP Tax-Aide Services

AARP Tax-Aides provide free income tax assistance for all low and middle income taxpayers, with special attention to seniors, during tax season. Tax-Aides offer free and confidential income tax counseling and tax return preparation services for individuals filing basic income tax forms.

Update on AARP Tax-Aide Services

AARP Tax-Aide is delayed due to the Coronavirus restrictions.

AARP is currently developing alternate methods to safely prepare taxes and hopes to have a plan in place by mid-February.
